Hope you’ve all been enjoying the sunny Bank Holiday here in London. Tomorrow we are running a Future Garage special from 12pm through to 2-3am. So if you are recovering from the weekend that was or you are an early-rising Yoga bunny then tune in to bricklaneradio.com to catch the unique sound of east London: future garage, bass, UKG and bass house with double and even triple bills from the likes of MY LIFE EXTRA, Shaun Stilwell, Kesh Chandra, Sarantis, Pablo del Monte and Axel Moody. The full timetable will be announced on Facebook early tomorrow morning.
We’ve updated the Downloads folder with lots of new content. From UK Bass to Bass house and Liquid D&B to the latest in Deep House there is something for everyone in there. Axel’s Moody’s debut show on the station with a finger-on-the-pulse UK Bass mix is just one of many highlights.
On Sunday 24th of November we will be going all Garage for one day with the station’s programming being focussed around the various sub-genres of Garage that are currently en vogue again. So if you are a fan of Bass House, UK Bass, Bashmore, Disclosure or even plain old 2-Step then this is for you.
We are launching Brick Lane Records in early 2014. We are currently looking for demo material. The label will comprise 3 sub-labels (Brick Lane Red, Grey and Black) to reflect the station’s styles. As such, we would like to sign tracks in 3 different genres: underground house (deep, tech, bass house etc.); dubstep/UK Garage; and mainroom (EDM, electro and progressive house). Please use our Soundcloud dropbox below to submit reading instructions carefully before you do so. Basically we want music that fits in with our programming – so listen to what we play – and that stands out from the crowd. Successful artists will not only have the backing of a record label but also a radio station behind them. Good luck and thanks for submitting. Axel Moody is the latest DJ to join our roster. Born in the 70s, the funk of that era combined with a love for contemporary electronic sounds have lead to DJ sets that are both fresh and versatile. Axel’s unique style incorporates layering self-made samples and loops over straight-up DJ tracks. His sets sit between tradidtional techno/minimal house and the very current bass house sounds rocking the dancefloors around the world. He recently moved to London from Italy to tap into the emerging UK Bass scene and to be inspired by life in the world’s greatest city. Who could blame him? We are delighted that he chose to do so!
