Q&A with Sagia

We start the first in our series of interviews with the artists who will be performing at our event in Trapeze Basement club on the 23rd January 2016 with Sagia.

Sagia tells about her releases on labels like Area Remote, her remix work and about the state of play of the club scene in London currently. Read the full interview here.

Seasons greetings

2014 has been our best year to date in terms of our listener numbers and, as such, all the Brick Lane Radio team would like to thank you for joining us on this journey.  This year has seen the launch of our club night, a number of great live performances and even more talented DJs joining our roster.

In early 2015 we will be launching our record label, East Recordings. We’ve signed up some exciting acts already. As the label will be focusing on underground house music we will be streamlining the station so the two go hand-in-glove. As such, expect to see changes to our Friday night programming (when we play mainroom styles), and we will be dropping the “EDM UK” sub-title from the station’s name.

Finally, we’ll be running all through the festive season (even on Christmas day), and we’ll be announcing our NYE line-up soon, which will featuring some very special sets focusing on the best tracks of 2014 in a number of genres.

Vic Vapor’s weekly residency

We loved Vic Vapor’s guess show last week so much we instantly offered him the slot Foolboyz are vacating (9pm Saturdays). We’d like to offer a big thanks for all the great mixes from Foolboyz over the last 18 months, and we’re really looking forward to hearing Vapor’s Chicago beats during his Martini Lounge show as of Saturday 14th June.

We go 128 kbps!

We’ve increased our broadcast streaming rate from 64 to 128 kbps. What the hell is this we hear you ask? Basically, we’ve doubled the quality of our audio streaming. 128 kilobytes is the average bit rate of MP3s on iTunes and, indeed, is the required bit rate for listing in iTunes Radio, which is one of our objectives in the increase, but mostly it’s about providing you with a better listening experience!
